Born in 1976 in Santiago, Chile. Paz Escandón is a visual artist whose career has been shaped by a diverse and committed education. She studied a Bachelor's degree in Arts with a specialization in painting at the University of Chile. Subsequently, she specialized in Environmental Design at Duoc UC Institute. Later, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Aesthetics from the Catholic University of Chile.
In addition to her academic background, she has participated in various workshops and diplomas related to the editorial world, illustration, photography, and artist's books. She is part of the painting appreciation workshop led by Eugenio Dittborn (National Art Award 2005), which has enriched her artistic perspective.
Among her achievements, the itinerant collective exhibition "The Journey, Correspondence, and Territory" stands out, having traveled through cultural centers in Spain, Argentina, and Chile. She presented her first artist's book at the StgoFoto fair at CCPLM. She was nationally selected for the SACO Biennial (Antofagasta).
With a deep interest in research, development, and production related to culture and humanity, she intertwines themes such as heritage, history, and anthropology in her work. She uses plastic arts and books as objects and supports for aesthetic reflection, exploring how these can function together or separately to express her concerns.​

BIO
Paz Escandón, nace en 1976 en Santiago, Chile, artista visual cuya trayectoria ha sido moldeada por una formación diversa. Estudió Arte con especialización en pintura en la Universidad de Chile, luego se especializó en Diseño de Ambientes en el Instituto Duoc UC y posteriormente obtuvo una licenciatura en Estética en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Además de su formación académica, Escandón ha participado en talleres y diplomados relacionados con el mundo editorial, la ilustración, la fotografía y los libros de artista. También forma parte del taller de apreciación de pintura dirigido por Eugenio Dittborn, Premio Nacional de Arte 2005, lo que ha enriquecido su perspectiva artística.
Entre sus logros, destaca su participación en la exposición colectiva itinerante El Viaje, Correspondencia y Territorio, que recorrió centros culturales en España, Argentina y Chile. Presentó su primer libro de artista en la feria StgoFoto del Centro Cultural Palacio de La Moneda. Seleccionada a nivel nacional para reprsentar a Chile en la Bienal SACO en Antofagasta.
El trabajo de Escandón se caracteriza por su interés profundo en la investigación y producción cultural, abordando temas como patrimonio, historia y antropología. Utiliza las artes plásticas y los libros como soportes para reflexionar sobre preocupaciones estéticas, explorando cómo estos pueden funcionar juntos o por separado para expresar sus inquietudes.
